“Airlift” is
a real story transpired in 1990 on 2nd August, when Iraque attacked Quebet.
There were one lacks seventy thousand people trapped there. In that situation
dare devil effort of one business man Ranjeet Katyal and some office’s worked
and they successfully airlifted all Indian from gulf country. It was biggest
eviction made by any country in the world and it is guineas record.
Airlift is a
patriotic film starrer Akshay Kumar and Nirmit Kaur. The film released on 22nd
January, 2016 over 2600 screens across the country and some hundreds in
overseas. Since it created fantabulous
pre release buzz in the market that’s why took fantastic opening of 12.35
crores nett.
Film earned
fabulous reviews a lots of love of audience resultantly, film took big jump on
Saturday and another huge jump on Sunday and earned consecutively 14.60 cr and
17.35 cr. Film finished first weekend 44.30 crores. Film continued magic on
weekday and took another huge jump on republic day. Film did fantastic business
in first week and emerged as Akshay Kumar’s best first week collection film.
Film
continued fantastic performance on second weekend and crossed 100 crores
benchmark though film lost reasonable number of screen in second week but there
wasn’t any effect on business therefore it finished second week 28.79 crores.
In third
week film shrunk over very less screen but it was still first choice of
audience. Film did nice business entire week and finished 11crores. After a journey
of 26 day, film earned 128.35 crores domestically. Film has also did fabulous
business on overseas centers and gathered around 76 crores. Total worldwide
collection is more than 204 cores.
Due to new
releases on Friday, Airlift is running over very limited screens and it may be
last week but film continues its pace on box office and did very good. Film did
very well on 4th weekend and collected around 1.23 crores. That means it will
finish lifetime around 126 crore domestically and 200 crore plus worldwidely.
Film has earned three times more than its budget so it should be treated as
blockbuster movies.
